Loyal supporters of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who leaped a barricade and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or expelled from Singapore.
A circulating footage depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing media personnel and rushing toward Grande while the actors made its way down a event pathway accompanied by supporters.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the event by guards.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "released after being detained", though court documents indicated that he was due to appear on the following morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a performance. His Instagram profile contains clips of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last winter.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is obviously a punishable act," wrote an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.
"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user remarked.
Several supporters blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed dealing with PTSD after a devastating incident at the end of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming many.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said another comment on Instagram.
A number of attendees also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while others demanded social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's videos.
In footage circulating online, Grande appeared startled when she was touched by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.
Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.
Many of supporters had assembled in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore venue, including several who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it started.
The movie, to be released on November 21, is the follow-up of a two-part adaptation of the popular stage musical Wicked, which centers on the unlikely bond between two very different characters.
The musical itself is a derivative of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a light pink sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.
They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of last year in the UK, and received ten Academy Award nods, earning a pair for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
