FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league two and a half years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.

Recent Activities

Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
