The Cottagers Begin Powerfully to Beat Tottenham and Increase Tension on Frank
Tottenham Hotspur fans who jeered keeper Guglielmo Vicario were informed afterwards "those individuals cannot be real Tottenham supporters" by boss Frank.
Tottenham conceded a pair of goals in the opening initial moments to lose 2-1 to Fulham, marking their tenth top-flight at home loss of 2025.
However the primary talking point was the visitors' next score when the keeper gave away possession well outside his area.
He ventured out to deal with a high pass and took the ball towards the touchline.
But, rather than kicking it into touch, the Italy international spun and attempted to clear away, but slipped as the ball glanced off Wilson and was collected by King.
King laid the ball off to Wales midfielder Harry Wilson, who bent a strike into the net from the touchline recorded at thirty-six point six metres.
Moments later when the ball came to Vicario once more, some Tottenham supporters booed him.
The team were jeered off at half-time, with the club 2-0 down, and again at the final whistle.
One of those booing sessions really angered the manager.
"It came to my attention a few of our supporters apparently jeered the incident and booed after, which, in my view is totally unacceptable," the Danish manager stated regarding the fans' response to his shot-stopper.
"Those individuals can't be real Tottenham supporters that do that. Alright jeering after the game, fine, but when we are playing, we are backing each other, we are behind one another going forward."
Tete had handed Fulham a early lead before Wilson's strike – with Kudus netting for Tottenham in an better second period showing.
Ex- top-flight goalkeeper Joe Hart stated that the next goal was "completely preventable".
"I do appreciate the fans' disappointment," the ex-keeper continued. "I know the part Vicario is playing. He's a great squad member, he is a true leader in the dressing room but ultimately you are going to be judged by your decisions.
"The keeper was deeply implicated in what turned out to be the winning goal."
Frank Stood Up For His Goalkeeper Vicario Following the Game
Italian international Vicario is in his third season with Spurs.
He said following the game that he had to take the feedback.
"That score was a mistake of my own, I accept responsibility for it," he commented.
"My aim was to clear the ball far and I just struck the ball in a bad manner. That made an even bigger mountain to climb."
He stated being booed "comes with the game".
"I'm a big man, what can I say?" he added. "We cannot be influenced by the circumstances in the stands. The fans have the right to do what they think.
"It's on us to stay more calm, to focus on ourselves. We are lacking in composure and poise to overturn outcomes. This match is a poor defeat and it's tough to accept."
Despite Vicario's error, it was not an simple score for Wilson to convert.
In fact it was the second most distant Premier League score of the season – after Tyler Adams' 43.3 yard strike for Bournemouth against the Black Cats, which incidentally also came on Saturday.
Wilson said he was "a little bit taken aback" that he still had an empty net to aim for.
10 moments elapsed between Vicario exiting of his box and Wilson striking – which was five moments following the kick.
"I felt like the goalkeeper was out of the box for ages," Wilson said.
"I was surprised not one of the defenders returned to the line. When not one of them defended the net, my eyes lit up a bit.
"[Destiny] Udogie slipped too, which gave me a bit of extra opportunity. Then it was all about attempting to achieve the right connection and get it on target. I had a good feeling, as soon as it came off my boot, that it was heading in."
Jeering Whilst We Are Still Playing Is Completely Unacceptable - the Manager
While Vicario's error led headlines, this was an all-round poor day for Tottenham to extend their home ground woes.
This was their tenth at home defeat of the year in the Premier League, a shared team record along with nineteen ninety-four and 2003.
The side still have home games against Frank's former club Brentford and champions the Reds to play prior to the end of the year.
Just a single of those victories have occurred after the manager took over from Ange Postecoglou in the off-season.
"When you're behind 2-0 after the opening, there is a mountain to overcome," said the boss.
"When you're in a bad spell, everything appears to work against you as well – the first was a redirected shot, the next is a mistake from the keeper.
"This result puts us in a place where we have suffered another match. Each fixture has a unique story, this game we lost in the early stages.
"We just need to keep working. The second half was much better and hopefully something we can utilize to learn."
Spurs have been defeated in four straight at home capital clashes for the initial time in the Premier League.
Furthermore they are recording nine point five attempts and three point two efforts on goal per match in the Premier League – their poorest rates on record in a one campaign (dating back to the 2003-04 season).
Ex- Cottagers midfield player Murphy commented that Frank has to endure the criticism.
"He's got take the stick," Murphy remarked. "He's taken a prestigious job at a huge team with massive anticipation. There is scrutiny and responsibility that comes with that.
"The performances at their stadium have been poor and they have to get better {quickly|
