Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slam events in the current campaign.
Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from her final two events this season as a result of the illness she has been battling in recent days.
Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to rest and recuperate ahead of launching her preparations for 2026.
Her upcoming training will include coach Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering for the upcoming season.
Raducanu had her blood pressure taken in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.
Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.
Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the final set versus Zhu owing to back discomfort that has troubled her during parts of the season.
These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after more than three years for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.
The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.
Raducanu won twenty-eight matches this year and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at March's Miami Open.
Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route then falling in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.
Her coach was Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.
The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled late this year.
The athlete revealed that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.
She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.
Roig joined her in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
