The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

David Walliams

Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions towards young women.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

He has published in excess of 40 works in total, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
