The former Liverpool manager states coming back to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club is an option. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-year spell that included continental glory and the Reds’ first league title for three decades, now holds roles overseeing worldwide football with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

The club claimed England's top flight last season, but many fans who revere Klopp would embrace the possibility that he may eventually return. During an extensive chat, he shared with Steven Bartlett: “I stated I refuse to lead any other side on English soil. Therefore in case it's my former club...yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“At 58 years old, that means the choice could be mine down the line, who knows. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, no such pressure exists. I'll simply watch what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Questioned regarding what circumstances would need to occur to draw him back to management, he confessed he feels no immediate pull for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he commented. “I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing in the rain for two-and-a-half or three hours; No need for interviews four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews each week.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, yet sharing a meal with the players enjoying conversation, I appreciate that. With many victories so there was often positive atmosphere at the club. Remaining with me is Van Dijk's laughter in my ear as an instance.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise of the current boss, praising him due to the changes that won the league in the previous season. The team has suffered a string of losses in all competitions following significant transfers, yet he dismissed the idea of it representing the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret with negative comments. An outstanding player. The French striker, superb talent. This is a well-built balanced team. No need for concern over the club, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling on the loss of Diogo Jota, a player he signed in 2020, and the effect for the team. The Portugal international lost his life in a vehicle collision together with his sibling this past summer.

“Can you substitute such an individual? This isn't just regarding his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. It's hard to picture the team environment missing him. I find it difficult to discuss regarding this. It was an incredible shock for his teammates as well. Not a single person would cite it to justify results though it's a fact. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains. Dealing with that emotionally is not easy. Unbearable.”
