'Trapped in a Dreadful Dream': Loved Ones of Missing Teenagers Await Answers After Alpine Inferno

The loved ones of teenagers unaccounted for after a devastating blaze at a venue in a Switzerland's ski resort are facing an agonising wait for answers and appealing for information about their family members publicly.

The blaze devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Circulated footage reveal the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Officials have stated that it could take considerable time to formally name the victims of the fire, which killed 40 people and hurt another scores more. Officials said on Friday that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with efforts continuing to name the remaining few.

In the interim, families and friends have been posting on the internet to plead for information about their friends who were present at the venue that evening.

Appeals for the Missing

The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are not yet determined, according to an public plea from his parent.

Other Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is likewise among the missing. His parent told reporters that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with a group and ended up at the venue.
